Student First Aid

This nationally recognised qualification introduces young people to essential first aid knowledge and practical skills, helping them to respond confidently and safely in an emergency. The course covers topics such as CPR, the use of an AED, managing bleeding, treating minor injuries, and recognising common medical conditions.

Delivered in line with Department for Education guidance, the qualification provides a valuable foundation in first aid awareness and responsibility, supporting the development of life-saving confidence among students aged 11 and above.

Learners gain hands-on experience through practical demonstrations and scenarios, ensuring they can apply what they learn effectively in real situations both inside and outside of school. The training encourages teamwork, communication and decision-making — vital life skills that complement personal and social education.

On successful completion, students receive an accredited certificate valid for three years, demonstrating their understanding of basic first aid principles and their ability to act appropriately until professional help arrives.
